P355N seamless pipe is an alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum. The chemical composition of EN 10216-3 P355N seamless alloy pipe is up to 0.30% chromium and up to 0.08% molybdenum. Chromium increases the hardness of the alloy used to make P355N pipe.
The grade designation of P355N alloy pipe includes the letters P and N. The letter P refers to its desirable properties that make it well suited for pressure applications. When the letter N is indicated, it means that the material has been normalized or formed. Additionally, the letter H is added to the designation to indicate hollow sections, which are suitable for pipe and vessel manufacturing at high temperatures and pressures.
